Pakistan’s tennis ace Aisamul Haq Qureshi and his Dutch partner Jean-Julien Rojer reached the second round of the men’s doubles event Wimbledon on Wednesday. The eighth seeded Pak-Dutch duo who was pitted against unseeded British pair of Josh Goodall and James Ward in the first round won the match in straight sets 7-6, 6-2 and 6-4.
The British pair showed some resistance in the first set which went into the tie break that Aisam-Rojer won 7-3. In the second set, Aisam and partner got back there broke the British duo twice to win the set 6-2. In third set, Pak-Dutch duo broke the serve of Goodall and Ward early to take 2-0 lead and then held their serve to seal the fate of the matcht. Next they face either Italian pair of Flavio Cipolla and Fabio Fognini or pair of Bobby Reynolds of USA and Izak Van Der Merwe of South Africa in second round.
