Two major Pakistani and Urdu feature films; Love mein Ghum and Bhai Log are slated to release this Eid-ul-Fitr, the success or failure of which will define the future of Pakistani Cinema called Lollywood.
Reema Khan’s second directorial film Love Mein Ghum, sponsored by LUX , is a romantic love story which also has some good artist line-up and new cast (except the director herself). The movie is also shot in the foreign countries like Azerbaijan and Malaysia. Soundtrack of Love mein Ghum is produced by UK based music producer and voices such as of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Ali Zafar, Kailash Kher, Abrar-ul-Haq, Sunidhi Chauhan and Shazia Manzoor definitely makes it a melodious flick.

The second Lollywood movie releasing this Eid is Syed Faisal Shah Bukhari’s Bhai Log, which is an action-thrillermovie and shows the life of Underground World and gangsters of Karachi. Promotional campaign for the movie is not in full swing as they couldn’t manage to get a corporate sponsor for the movie. It is expected that with big cast and very relevant and hot topic, the movie “Bhai Log” will leave its mark on Pakistani Cinema-goers.
The major threat to the above mentioned Pakistani films is a Bollywood commercial movie Bodyguard, starringSalman Khan and Kareena Kapoor. Bodyguard is also releasing on this Eid in Pakistan and those who are closely watching the Cinema business, believe that its screening might affect the demand of other Pakistani Films.
Whether the aforesaid Pakistani movies manage to hit at the box office or not, it is indeed a healthy trend that Local industry is trying to stand on its feet & daring to release new movies. This healthy competition for films is being taken as a Litmus test for the future success of Pakistani Cinema.
We do recommend our readers to watch out these movies in Cinemas near you, in order to support the local film and cinema industry.
